Philadelphia-based Singer/Songwriter Tim Williams, fresh off of the release of his second studio album, Blue Ribbon, has earned the reputation of being one of the hardest working solo acoustic acts in the nation today, playing 300+ live shows annually on stages ranging from New York to Key West to LA and everywhere in between. Hes been direct support for Of Monsters and Men, Butch Walker, Better Than Ezra, Ryan Star, Jon McLaughlin, Tristan Prettyman, Diane Birch, Marc Scibilia, Anya Marina, Jeffrey Gaines, JJAMZ, and members of Live and Barenaked Ladies, among others. Hes travelled the country many times over as the producer and house musician for the multi media talk show MyFixitUpLife and has been featured in numerous film, television and theater productions.
He performed his song Joplin, in Joplin, at the 2nd Anniversary Ceremony on May 22, 2013 to a crowd of thousands, among whom were the tornado victims families, survivors, the Mayor of Joplin, the Governor of Missouri and Director of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.
Along with his band, he opened the Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party in July 2012 as direct support for Of Monsters and Men & JJAMZ (to a crowd of 6,000) and has played almost every stage in Philadelphia, becoming a mainstay at local venues Bourbon Blue, World Cafe Live, the TLA and Tin Angel. He can be seen before many Phillies home games at Citizens Bank Ballpark playing solo acoustic at McFaddens and XFinity Live. Along with his buddy Chad Burtch, he plays the World Famous Hogs Breath Saloon in Key West 4 weeks a year as Tim and Chad. He was cast in a regional production of RENT and has performed as the musical guest on The Second City mainstage in Chicago twice thanks to cast member Katie Rich and musical director Julie Nichols. You might even catch his mug on a few television commercials and in the Philadelphia-based film Invincible.
As the house musician for MyFixitUpLife with Mark and Theresa, a nationally syndicated home improvement radio talk show, Tim regularly travels the country and has performed for stars of the DIY Network, HGTVs Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott and The Cousins John and Anthony, This Old House, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Man Caves, and has even appeared on Restaurant: Impossible and Save My Bakery on The Food Network.
Hes received a great deal of radio support in the Philadelphia-area, thanks in large part to multiple in-studio performances at Radio 104.5 and 93.7 WSTW, along with airplay on 93.3 WMMR, 97.5 The Fanatic (ESPN) and 94 WIP. He has performed live on Philadelphia television multiple times, including NBCs The 10! Show, 6ABC News and PHL17s Eye Opener Philadelphia. His music has also been heard many times as bumper music on Fox 29's News at 5.
Tims had the good fortune of playing for tens of thousands of people throughout his career, most notably the band Lifehouse, John Mayer, Jason Aldean, Chef/Author Anthony Bourdain, Top Chefs Jennifer Carroll & Eric Ripert, Members of the Philadelphia Phillies/Eagles/Sixers/Flyers, Broadcasters Troy Aikman & Joe Buck, Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin, Miami Heats Lebron James & Dwyane Wade, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, Extreme Makeovers Ty Pennington, Cheers John Ratzenberger and many more.
With 2 albums, 2009s We Begin and 2012s Blue Ribbon, and a high energy, often comedic stage show, Tim has drawn comparisons to Matt Nathanson, Rob Thomas and Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket. Blue Ribbon can be heard on Pandora and both of his albums are available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.
July 1, 2009 - We Begin released downstairs at Word Cafe Live.
In October 2010, Tim recorded and released his first single since We Begin, "Back Again", which recevied considerable airplay on 610 WIP, ESPN Radio 97.5 The Fanatic and 93.7 WSTW.
In February 2011, he launched a short-lived band: Tim Williams and The Delicate Few. Their single, "My Fix It Up Life", was produced by Philly-favorite Matt Santry and was written for and inspired by his friends Mark and Theresa Clement of MyFixitUpLife.com (available on iTunes).
In April 2011 Tim Williams and The Delicate Few performed their song "Breeze" on NBC Philadelphia's The 10! Show and were voted into the Final Four (out of 200+ bands) in Radio 104.5's 4th Birthday Show Contest to open for Weezer and Panic! At The Disco at Festival Pier Penn's Landing in Philadelphia.
In May 2011, Tim joined "Mark and Theresa's MyFixItUpLife" at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas and performed to great acclaim for Ty Pennington (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), Ed Begley Jr. (Actor/Activist), Chris Grundy (DIY Network's "Cool Tools"), Lisa LaPorta (HGTV), and the thousands of Industry professionals in attendance.
On May 20th, he and The Delicate Few performed "Breeze" and a cover of The Verve Pipe's "The Freshmen" on Radio 104.5's LIVE AT 5 In-Studio session.
In June of 2011, Tim performed live at "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" in Etters, PA and was selected as a finalist in Wawa Welcome America's Singer/Songwriter contest, which culminated in a live performance on the Riverstage on Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. Judges included ?uestlove of The Roots and Geoff Gordon, President of Live Nation.
Tim was a featured contractor on Food Network's "Restaurant: Impossible" in August 2011 along with "Mark and Theresa's MyFixitUpLife".
On October 13, 2011, the beautiful and talented Katie Rich invited Tim to perform with the mainstage cast of The Second City's production of "South Side of Heaven" in Chicago during the "set" - the improvised 3rd act of the famous show. Tim performed the theme songs to Free Credit Report.com and Full House (Yep)... and his song, "Blue Ribbon", and cites the night as a career highlight and personal milestone.
He joined MyFixitUpLife in Joplin, MO in late October 2011 for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's 200th and final episode - playing music and lending a hand rebuilding the tornado ravaged community.
Fall/Winter 2011, Tim sings the National Anthem before both a Men's and a Women's Basketball Game at his alma mater St. Joseph's University.
In April of 2012, Tim was voted into the Final Four - for the second consecutive year - out of hundreds of bands in Radio 104.5's Contest for a local opener for the Radio 104.5 5th Birthday Show at a Sold-Out Festival Pier in Philadelphia. Headliners include Incubus, Cake, Flogging Molly, Angels & Airwaves and Civil Twilight. On July 28, 2012, Tim and his band performed to 6,000 people at the Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party as direct support for JJAMZ and Of Monsters and Men.
Tim recorded his second studio release with producer Matt Santry; his first full length. Blue Ribbon, released digitally on August 22, 2012 and officially at World Cafe Live downstairs to a crowd of 300 on September 26, 2012, can be heard on Pandora.
December 2012 - My Fix It Up Life receives several spins on Radio 104.5 during the "New Music Hour", sandwiched by Dave Matthews Band and NEEDTOBREATHE. "Blue Ribbon Kids!" released as a companion CD to the Children's Book "Molly's Adventure To Sunnyside" by Molly "Sunshine" Nece. Falling Away, My Fix It Up Life, Back Again and Course Correct are featured.
January/February 2013 - Tim played NFL's Kickoff to Rebuild with My Fix It Up Life at Superbowl XLVII in New Orleans. It was part of a week long playground and neighborhood building project with Rebuilding Together and Carter Oosterhouse's "Carter's Kids". Also, Tim was voted as a TOP 5 finalist in 93.7 WSTW's 2012 Hometown Heroes Homey Awards out of Wilmington, DE in the following categories: Album of the Year (Blue Ribbon), Song of the Year (Course Correct), Best Songwriter, Male Solo Artist of the Year, and Concert of the Year (Blue Ribbon CD Release with Simplified and Jenn Bostic at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia). Also in February, by happenstance, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade are in attendance at one of Tim's shows and spend 3 hours requesting songs and cheering (For the record, they LOVED "Ain't No Body Got Time For That").
March 2013 - Tim performed for the Herremans Foundation at their first ever "Hoops For Help" event at Lincoln Financial Field. Members of the Philadelphia Eagles were on hand along with Bernard Hopkins, Howard Eskin, and a varitable who's who in Philadelphia. Separately, Tim played at the HQ of HGTV's "Kitchen Cousins" and "Cousins on Call" for a taping of MyFixitUpLife.
